We commit to understanding digital exclusion and how it impacts the people we work with.

As the National Agency for Youth Work we are committed to understanding the impact of digital exclusion for young people. Through our digital youth work programme we enable youth workers to support young people in their online lives.

We commit to delivering on digital inclusion across our organisation, based on our understanding of need.

Within our organisation we provide the support and training that staff need to operate in an increasingly digitised world. When we deliver online events and training we will consider the potential barriers to joining and offer support to mitigate wherever possible.

We commit to identifying and utilising appropriate resources for digital inclusion.

We are committed to promoting digital youth work as a route to supporting young people in their online lives, including themes and topics that are relevant to the inclusion agenda. Digitalyouthwork.scot. provides extensive resources for the youth work sector, including key themes such as staying safe and secure online. Digital inclusion is not only about access but also about providing support around digital literacy – the ability to think through actions in relation the digital and the essential digital skills needed to succeed.

We commit to working in genuine partnership where we can, to promote and advance digital inclusion.

We will continue to work in partnership with leading digital inclusion agencies to ensure that everyone is included. We are proud to be partners in Circuit, a project to promote digital skills to young people with Care Experience. We are delighted to work with the Include Plus Network to demonstrate the relevance of digital youth work to the inclusion agenda. Digital Inclusion is a key theme for the Digital Youth Network which we chair jointly with Young Scot and for our annual Digital Youth Work conference.

We commit to contributing towards a wider conversation, developing a sense of community and being part of something bigger - because digital inclusion is everyone's responsibility.

We know we can’t do this by ourselves. We are committed to advocating on behalf of our member organisations who represent the youth work sector in Scotland, supporting them in every way we can, seeking out new resources and working closely with other agencies to improve access to digital, particularly for groups who are currently excluded.
