• Our Digital Strategy will embed digital inclusion into all areas of our service delivery.
• We will work with our colleagues, Board and service users to understand ways in which they may be digitally excluded.
• We will work to ensure that digital inclusion is embedded at organisational level.
• We will survey our colleagues to understand where they are in terms of digital skills and digital wellbeing.
• We will empower, develop and support our staff to build a digitally confident workforce.
We commit to delivering on digital inclusion across our organisation, based on our understanding of need.
• We will look and understand the impact our service delivery may have on people who might be digitally excluded and ensure that any service redesign is person centred and takes account of barriers to digital inclusion.
• We will develop and tailor digital skills projects and commit to carrying out a review and evaluation. We will use these reviews to find out what works well and what motivated people to improve their digital skills.
• We will seek a commitment from our Board and Senior Leadership Team to ensure that frontline staff have the time and resources to develop and deliver digital inclusion work
We commit to identifying and utilising appropriate resources for digital inclusion.
• We will work alongside our service users to build their skills, knowledge and confidence to help them “get connected” safely to allow them to access online services and connect with friends and family.
• We will provide free Wi-Fi and PC access which is reliable and safe within our office.
• We will consider barriers to digital inclusion such as connectivity in our rural stock.
• We will donate devices to technology reuse projects.
• We will look at available funding options to access free short-term mobile connectivity or devices for our service users.
• We will establish a Digital working group.
We commit to working in genuine partnership where we can, to promote and advance digital inclusion.
• We will access available resources to help with our digital inclusion work.
• We will share resources and learning with other local organisations to reduce or avoid duplication.
• We will work with partners who understand our service users, and the local area and how they are most likely to be affected by digital exclusion.
• We will identify key stakeholders who can help accelerate our digital inclusion journey.
We commit to contributing towards a wider conversation, developing a sense of community and being part of something bigger - because digital inclusion is everyone's responsibility.
• By participating in national conversations through intermediaries like SCVO.
• By contributing to national resources and sharing our knowledge freely.
• By actively promoting the Charter beyond our own organisation.
• By taking any opportunity to promote and advocate for digital inclusion.
